Gerald retired from a very long successful career in corporate employment occupying Main Board and General Manager positions with a UK Plc. as well as non UK Private Organisations. The chosen industry was always one involved in Agriculture and the Food Supply Chain in both the UK and Central & Eastern Europe. In the latter field, he became a well-known expert in the Industry with vast experiences in many countries in commercial employment as well as work for the UK Govt., The EU with DG6 and the UN.
Prior to returning to the UK Gerald decided to farm a 1000 acre Polish Estate for a number of years in order to achieve a personal ambition. Rather than fully retiring, he has continued to conduct work for DG6 and the UN in the Food Chain field often in post war trouble spots.
This vast exposure to a very fast changing and difficult world, whether at commercial or diplomatic level, has resulted in an unrivalled experience which he has brought to the Charity Sector sitting on 3 Charity Boards fulfilling his lifelong desire to help others.
The experience during the LCA transition from the CAB and the Strategic Planning requirement allowed this knowledge to come to the fore particularly in the field of media communications where long-term contacts have been used to great advantage in correct LCA exposure locally.
When not working Gerald, continues to use his Manchester United Season Ticket to great effect as well as enjoying a lifelong passion for Railways and Railway photography and being well published in this field in books and online.
